

Utah Community Action of Salt Lake City, UT is seeking to hire a Special Needs Liaison. This is a full time, year-round, benefit eligible position.

The Special Needs Liaison is responsible for assisting in the evaluation and assessment of speech/language and developmental screenings. Collaborate with local school districts, staff, and parents to determine if further evaluation for special education is needed. They support teaching staff in developing and implementing intervention plans, and the implementation of IFSP and Individualized Education Plan goals.
This Special Needs Liaison position earns a competitive wage of $24.67/hour. QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Special Education, speech language pathology, and/or related field required.
- Two years of experience working in Early Childhood Special Education.
- Head Start experience preferred
OTHER JOB DUTIES
- Assist in recruiting children with disabilities.
- Assist in monitoring/tracking children eligible for special education, produce monthly reports and data as required, and maintain records to ensure compliance with Individual Education Plans.
- Collaborate with parents to ensure they are active partners in their child's education.
- Support teaching staff with developing intervention and behavior plans, and implementing IFSP/ IEP goals.
- Assist in speech and language/developmental screenings throughout the school year.
- Provide referrals to appropriate agencies.
- Provide ongoing staff and parent training on a variety of special education topics.
- Collaborate with staff in identifying and referring students with suspected delays.
- Plan and implement the transition services for children with an IFSP who are transitioning out of Early Head Start, and for children with an IEP who are transitioning out of Head Start to kindergarten.
