We are hiring several Classroom Teaching Aides to work in our Head Start classrooms throughout the Salt Lake Valley. Work with children ages infant to five years old. We have both school year and year round positions available.

If you are hired, we will pay your tuition for and enroll you in our Child Development Associate (CDA) course. Once you receive your CDA, you will get a raise and can then apply to become an Assistant Teacher.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Classroom Teaching Aide works cooperatively as a member of a classroom team to deliver high-quality services for all children and families, and is responsible for the safety, supervision, and activities of the birth to five-year-old children assigned under his/her care in the program.

OTHER DUTIES

• Has basic knowledge and assists in planning, supporting, and implementing learning experiences that advance the children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Provides quality, developmentally appropriate, responsive Birth to Five care with the guidance and supervision from the Lead Teacher and Program Specialist. Supports the classroom team as needed to provide a safe and healthy learning environment through well-organized classrooms featuring consistent schedules, well designed areas for experiences, established routines and use of sensitive and appropriate guidance strategies.
• Assists in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, including comprehensive current case notes.
• Assists in developing and implementing behavior plans and/or appropriate interventions.
• Assists in conducting a minimum of two Home Visits and two Staff-Parent Conferences during the school year.
• Assists in establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy learning environment by providing active supervision to all children at all times to ensure their well-being, and includes being actively engaged with children in learning activities indoors and outdoors.
  

  REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma.
• Required to be enrolled (upon hire) in our Infant/Toddler or Preschool Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) program to be completed within one year.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Infant/Toddler or Preschool Child Development Associate Credential
• Previous Head Start experience.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish).
