POSITION OVERVIEW

Responsible for helping students learn and supporting the teacher in planning and presenting lessons.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides a safe and welcoming atmosphere for children.
• Works with children in the classroom to promote their learning and development.
• Collaborates with teachers to monitor the development of each child. 
• Assists in developing lesson plans and the specific needs of each child.
• Conducts parent teacher conferences, developmental screens, and home visits.
• Participates in professional development coaching and training opportunities

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• 2-3 years of early childhood program experience preferred.
• Develop effective communication and partnership with families.
• Guide and support students’ acquisition of social skills including eating meals with children and helping them develop self-help skills.
• Support and provide Continuum of Care to help children develop secure relationships.
• Be responsible for children’s safety at all times and in all settings
• Proficiency in operating a PC using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

• High School Degree required.
• CDA and Associate’s degree in education or related field within one year of hire date.
