PURPOSE OF POSITION: Assist the person responsible for the operation (management and administration) of a RCMA Child Care Center. By applying knowledge learned from a background similar to the families serviced, provides leadership to degreed and non-degreed staff that will enhance their ability to provide a culturally sensitive, developmentally appropriate and healthy Early Childhood Program and support to families. Provide a warm and friendly emotional climate for the Center and families serviced.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following; however, other duties may be assigned:
Read and become familiar with program goals, philosophy, and objectives.
Maintain a warm, secure, affectionate social-emotional climate for children.
Provide a safe and healthy environment.
Establish positive relationships with families.
Observe behaviors and child’s development
Participate in training and career development plan.
Assist Center Coordinator in Implementing Program requirements as center.
Assist Center Coordinator in planning weekly staff meetings.
In absence of Center Coordinator assumes decision-making role.
Adherence to all RCMA funding and DCF requirements.
High School diploma or GED.
Experience with economically disadvantaged families in a community setting.
Experience with training and or supervising non-degreed professionals.
